Buenos Aires

The first leg of the journey - big bustling noisy city.. my facts guide book says it is the third noisiest city in the world!! well don´t quite know how they work that out but it sure is noisy. And incredibly diverse - from high class shops to slums - villa miseria they are called. (it seems they even run tourist bus trips to see them!!!) that´s pretty weird.

On another subject entirely..Food is great - the best sirloin steak I ever ate I think.. good restaurant. Well somewhere I didn´t expect to have decent food at all - just a cafeteria sort of place - almost the type that would have plastic tablecloths at the end of a touristy cheap shopping mall. A steak to die for, a beer, a bottle of water and a salad and all for less than $12. no complaints there.
Today had a great wander is an antique market - called Feria San Telmo - old buildings good street musicians and interesing art.

I still haven´t managed to catch any good tango, but hopefully won´t manage to leave before I do. It seems that most things are closed on Christmas day.. like everywhere else in the world.. well that is of course except for the Muslim world - so it will be an opportunity just to wander and take in the sights with no temptation to shop.
But that said, I am still considering heading off to Uruguay tomorrow.. just for the day - more on that later.
the internet is so great.. Sahaja is on line now so I am off to chat!
thanks for reading!!

The Adventure Begins! Antarctica Here I Come.

All the last minute packing has been done, the panicking that maybe I don't have enough warm clothes.. and then the .. oh no! what to wear in stylish Buenos Aires!! where it is HOT!
and then the final squeeze.. how to get that suitcase shut.. but too late now to try to throw anything out so sitting on it is the last resort.

and I am off.. here now in the Qantas lounge, waiting the few hours until the beginning of the 16.5 hour leg - Sydney to Buenos Aires. Valerian and melatonin and homeopathic jet lag pills in hand - something will surely help me sleep? Knowing the risks of real sleeping pills ..konk you out so much that you run the risk of deep vein thrombosis. No thank you .. the Antarctica adventure is way too important to land up in hospital that way, or worse.

Sahaja is holding the fort at home - so if you need anything from Best Health - she will take very good care of you. and in the meantime, before the next posting here - have a great Christmas.. I will talk to you from Buenos Aires and give you the first impressions from there.

Is Your House Killing You? - Solutions...

The popular TV series on SBS has woken lots of people up to the possible hidden dangers in their houses and environment.

Here at Best Health we have been looking for a good air purifier - ioniser for some time now - and finally our friends at Healthstart have come up with a product that we can really endorse. The statistics on it in comparison to other purifiers on the market stack up really well and the price is good too. I don't usually use this blog as an advertising medium but this information is really worth getting out there.

There are too many people suffering from allergies - being totally blocked up in their heads, having to take way too many medications to try to alleviate their problems and cleaning and ionising the air in their homes and offices can have a profound effect on their ability to live their lives to the full.

If this is something you are interested in have a look at the info on our site or call us for more details. We are getting some in stock next week and you can come by if you like and see it in action.

Explore, dream, discover!

Mark Twain quote: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

I am getting SO excited. I haven't been this excited about going somewhere in a very long time. But now it is less than 4 weeks to departure.. and I am off to Buenos Aires.. and on the Ushuaia and down to the great white land of the South.. Antarctica.
Phew...
what more to say than that.
I am sure I will have more to say on return..
watch this space!!

Voting Time

I found this to be very interesting.. it came out with exactly what I thought was my choice, but the process of choosing your candidate to vote for gave me lots of clarity about how I really think on many issues. So I figured just to cut and paste the full message from this great organisation called GetUp. See the info below.

Deciding exactly how to vote is important, and often really hard.

Wouldn't it be great if there was some kind of impartial, straightforward and credible quiz that could confirm your inklings about which party is right for you? And also to tell any not 100% certain voter exactly which candidate and party came closest to their views?

Well, for the first time ever in Australian politics, there is. And we want GetUp members to be the first to hear about it - as well as spread the word.
The major parties get plenty of air time, well now getting information about all the parties is easy.

This is like nothing you've seen before. Take the exclusive, three-minute quiz to get your very own, personalised how-to-vote card - we can even SMS the results to your mobile on Election Day!

http://www.howshouldivote.com.au

How did we do it? First, we worked with renowned independent pollster Irving Saulwick to frame 20 key questions on the major issues facing Australians this election. Then, we got on the phone to every candidate in the country and invited them to take the quiz too - so that you can match up your views to those of the candidates' right in your very own electorate.

The result is a groundbreaking win for democracy - a completely free, open and transparent how-to-vote card that's personalised to you and your electorate.

Thanks to the promotional support of Yahoo!7 , with a staggering four million users per month, we are aiming to reach a huge amount of voters this election.

Take the quiz now and help spread the word to every voter you know: this time, there's a fun and easy way to make up your mind.

http://www.howshouldivote.com.au

After all, we've all been there, or known someone who perhaps doesn't feel they can get the facts they need - so instead they tick any old box or simply vote the way their parents do.

Well this time, there's a better way. See for yourself and help spread the word with our ad below:

Here's to making it count at the ballot box, The GetUp Team

Khalil Gibran on Pain

I thought this poem so beautiful that it was very much worth sharing here.

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses
your understanding.

Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that it's
heart may stand in the sun,
so must you know pain.

And could you keep your heart in wonder at the
daily miracles of your life,
your pain would not seem
less wonderous than your joy.

And you would accept the seasons of your heart,
even as you have always accepted the seasons
that pass over your fields.

And you would watch with serenity
through the winters of your grief.

Much of your pain is self-chosen.

It is the bitter potion by which the physician within
you heals your sick self.

Therefore trust the physician,
and drink his remedy
in silence and tranquility.

For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by
the tender hand of the Unseen.

And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips,
has been fashioned of the clay
which the Potter has moistened
with His own sacred tears.

How to Become an Expert - Beyond Outlook 2007!

Outlook 2007 - for dummies.. well .. that is certainly what we have felt like in the past few weeks. Brick walls kept presenting on every turn with our new Outlook 2007. Oh the joys of our old simple Outlook Express.. who ever thought it was going to be a good idea to change over to the latest Outlook?
Umm.. me.... oh dear!

Who ever also thought that perhaps Microsoft might make things easier .. not more difficult.
I did. well I was wrong. Outlook 2007 became our nightmare. Poor Sahaja - my sister and business partner gave herself at least three migraines over it! I went crosseyed till midnight on a couple of occasions.

But gleefully, we have now solved our major problem which involved the conflicts between address books and contact lists! Oh Microsoft.. thank you for providing us with the opportunity to learn and sift through vast quantities of nerd material to get to a simple solution!

If you email us now, we finally know the way to easily add you into our new email contact database.. so you may now have the opportunity of getting our monthly newsletters. We can just about give advice on 'how to' as well! LOL the joys of computers.. sometimes I would like to use this one as an anchor for a boat!

So that said. if you would like to hear more from Best Health - click here to sign up for our newsletters.. we send them out at irregular intervals and do our best to provide interesting and stimulating information.

That's it for now.. thank God its Friday and I am leaving the office NOW!

New Research into Aging

Our wonderful Australian scientists have made an amazing discovery! Wait for it....
hold your breath now.. they are telling us we can be fighting fit until our 80's. And you know how?
By eating our fruits and vegetables!
They say .. they have discovered that diet is crucial.. and that eating fruits and vegies can help prolong our lives.

In fact this is such a ground breaking discovery that they are actually presenting this research at a scientific conference in Sydney today.

Oh sorry folks.. did you read what I just wrote with the necessary sarcastic tone of voice? I sure hope so because when we heard this incredible news on the ABC this morning we both nearly fell over laughing.

How can they possibly think that they have just made this discovery? What about pioneers such as Dr Bernard Jensen, and so many wonderful people who have been telling us for years and years that eating fruits and vegies will make you healthy.. and make you live longer.

Who on earth has been paying for this new research!!
Oh PLEASE!!!
When ever will they wake up and see what has been under the nose for just so long!

Antarctica in the Summer

I am fortunate enough to be on the verge of a expedition to Antarctica. This has been a dream of mine for many years.
Some years ago I attended a slide evening in Brisbane - with the Aurora Expeditions company.. and was totally entranced with vision of going with them to the Antarctic Peninsular.
Now I booked.. the New Year Trip for 12 days.. and it is only 3 months away and all these considerations come to mind - suddenly I am not fit enough, have not learned enough about taking photos - all those things I thought I should get together before I went!!! .. but there it is .. and I am totally excited just the same.

The sense of being in a type of desert place .. a place where there is space and expansion and the stretching of all your senses into the distance - unhindered by all the machine noise that is usual in the city..that's the main reason I signed up for kayaking option.. I imagined that away from the ship engine and the zodiac motor - just gliding in a kayak amongst the ice scenery - the whales, and the teeming life there of summer..and that space away from noise disharmony - I thought this would be great.
Cold.. hmmm... oh well.. lots of thermals are called for.
For the trip down, I have booked a place to stay in Bueones Aires - fortunately recommended by an old friend..

My niece Bindi says.. "it is the music in BA.. that food, the shopping, the architecture and also it is in your face in other ways.. "
5 or 6 days there...then off south to the expanse. I will tell you more as I go along..and have found on the net a well reviewed sort of homestay in Ushuaia.. for two nights.. I am looking forward to that very much

okay.. it is time to get that kayak out on the river and start paddling like mad.. they are said to kayak up to 120-140 kms each trip!

And here I would like to thank those who are assisting me to manifest this dream..
1. Sahaja
2. Heather
3. Olive,
4. Harley
5. Jude
6. Aunty Marion
7. Ken
and those who are now too many to name..
For without them and without our many valuable clients - who have often become friends, I would not be going on this almost unbelievable journey I thank you.
How you have all helped me so much.

Is the World a Friendly Place?

My sister Sahaja shared some of a course she is doing with me. It is simply called The Course - Field Training.
I know Sahaja has found this to be a very valuable experience and I am very grateful that she has shared some of it with me.

Last night I read a short line - that said "Friendliness toward self is an essential spiritual quality" - Einstein said "The most important question we can ask is: "Is the Universe and friendly place?"

Field training suggests that a more important question may be: "Are you a friendly place?"

This is profound information.
If the universe is a friendly place, that is how you experience it and that is how you pull that friendliness toward you.. if we begin to understand that what is out there is in here, then we can better understand Einstein's statement.

I know there have been discussions in other places about this same topic, and there has been much wrangling over it - but I would suggest for a moment that we can consider it this way: it is really quite simple - if you get out of bed in the morning and look out the window and see that the day is beautiful, it sets the stage for your experience.
If you get up and immediately grump about the house, then you will not experience the world as a friendly place! And when you really consider the implications of that - the very first part when I am grumpy, is "I am not a friendly place!"

Too simplistic? Fight begets fight, resistance creates resistance.

Just try this: next time you get into an argument or disagreement with someone you love, attempt to begin agreeing with them. See what happens - just do it for an experiment. What matters? Being right, or having a close relationship?

Best Health Has A New Website!

Outsourcing was the buzz word of the week, and so I went with it and outsourced! Some weeks later, and much gnashing of teeth and sometimes despair that it ever would look right, our new website is finally on line.

Not that it is finished.. those of you who are web-authors will know that websites are never really finished.
Especially those whose purpose is to educate and further the 'work' however that may be interpreted.

In fact as I told my elderly aunt when she enquired the other day as to how the site was going.. and was it finished yet? - websites are like a garden - you have to keep on pruning and planting new things and that is the way they go. She understood that very well.

So if you like.. check out our new design. It has been wonderfully augmented by Sahaja's (my sister and colleague)'s photographic skills as well as some great shots care of iStockPhoto. A great place to go for good pics at a reasonable price.

Thanks for visiting..come back soon.

Some Believe Sugar May also be linked to Diabetes!!!

Remember all the warnings that sugar was bad for you? It still is, say some experts - but food companies are covering it up

This eye opening article is really worth a read.. the line that grabbed me was the following:
Some believe it may also be linked to diabetes.

with all the evidence out there how is it possible to make this statement?
It is said in this article...
the average can of cola contains seven teaspoons of sugar. McVitie's Go Ahead Fruit-Ins biscuits are 45.8% sugar. The weight-loss drink Slimfast is 61.9% sugar.

a weight loss drink.. 61.9% sugar.. oh my goodness...
Listen folks.. if you want to lose weight, or just want to maintain that svelte figure that you have, then please lay off the sugar. Contrary to many beliefs, it is not the fat that makes you fat.. it is the sugar. And it is insidious. It sneaks into so many things. Read labels if you want to know what is good for you and it doesn't take you too long to work out which products are worth taking off the shelf and putting into your shopping basket. But you have to read the labels carefully. If the first ingredient in that product says sugar leave it where it is.. on the shelf.

Mercury Toxic to Nerve Cells

If you have been considering the possibility of removing your dental amalgam, that source of constant mercury toxicity - this short movie made by the Calgary University will give you an immediate impetus to do so.

Alzheimers is a terrible fate - this movie implicates the role of mercury toxicity in this disease in no uncertain terms.

Watch it.. it will blow you away.

and then make sure you make an appointment with a dentist who understands how to remove your amalgams without causing more problems as they need to use a very specific protocol to protect you during the process. For more information on this subject you might like to go to this site on biological dentistry.
And if you live in Australia, and would like to be pointed in the right direction for a good dentist, give us a call or an email and we may be able to assist you.

Thousands of Military weapons missing in Iraq.

Where did the Iraqi guns go?

"The American military has not properly tracked hundreds of thousands of weapons intended for Iraqi security forces and has failed to provide spare parts, maintenance personnel or even repair manuals for most of the weapons given to the Iraqis, a federal report released Sunday has concluded."

Baghdad - The US government cannot account for 190 000 weapons issued to Iraqi security forces in 2004 and 2005, according to an investigation carried out by the Government Accountability Office.

According to the July 31 report, the military "cannot fully account for about 110 000 AK-47 assault rifles, 80 000 pistols, 135 000 items of body armour and 115 000 helmets reported as issued to Iraqi forces".

Apparently the US Commanders have been accusing others of supplying arms to the insurgents.. in a word.. whoops!! they have been supplying them themselves!

So now they are not only creating havoc by trying to 'fight' for peace but they are also managing to well arm their opponents! What a mess.

When ever will we learn? Fight creates fight, war creates war. Let us stop for one moment and consider what we are fighting within ourselves.
Stop the fight, and the resistance fades away.
Take at least this lesson from the war in Iraq. Let us learn from it to assist ourselves in our own lives.

A Joke? or the Truth!

sorry about the short cartoon.. please go to the link to see the whole thing!

When pharmacists tell the truth (comic)

This website tells some very interesting truths.. it is well worth getting their daily newsletter to keep abreast of some of the more interesting stories behind the stories we see on our television and in the newspapers.

A very important part of taking responsibility for our own health lies in receiving the correct information and educating ourselves. I am not about scaring people, or buying into the fear tactics that go all over this planet in these times, I don't want to add to that load we are carrying - but misinformation is rife, so when I find a site that gives another side to the usual stories, then I am very happy to pass it on.

At the same time, I suggest you educate yourself, but do not get hooked into the fear - either that promoted by our governments and big pharma and big business, or that which is on the other side - that of the 'conspiracy theorists".

Health Disaster - Time to take Control

This is a short video which is well worth watching from Dr Mercola. You may be shocked at these statistics of the biggest health disaster of our time, which is generally covered up and not known by most people.
It brings home to us the huge importance of taking charge of your own health - learning about how to get healthy and keep healthy - and how to keep yourself and your family out of the medical system.

For more information on general health news and suggestions for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, we have lots of info on our website as well - time to get reading, get educated on the real cost of medical intervention, junk food and our toxic environment.

Being healthy, making the effort required to wake up your body right down to the cellular level, and enliven yourself once again is such a worth while endeavour. You will be so glad you did when the rewards begin to be felt .. and they will be felt more quickly than you expect.
Your eyes get brighter, your step lighter, and your brain starts working clearly.

Go for it.. take charge again and wake up and live.

By the Grace of God

This story was sent to me by a friend.. Robin Bee, who sends us lots of inspirational stories.. passed on from who knows where...? But I liked this one. Once again an illustration that we need to keep a view of the big picture before we make judgements.

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost.He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, "God! How could you do this to me?"

Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

The Moral of This Story: It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering.

Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.

Makes You Think...

A quote from the testimony of Hermann Goering at the Nuremberg trials, not long before Hitler's Vice-Fuehrer poisoned himself in his jail cell:

It is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.

This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.

It works the same in every country.

No further comment required I believe.

Eat your Blueberries!! to slash the risk of cancer.

Berries are rich in something called flavonoids.. which are potent antioxidants - what does that mean? well they are scavengers for the stuff in our body that we don't need.. those things called free radicals - in a word the aging molecules - which easily interfere with the healthy function and reproduction of our cells.

Researchers in the US at Rutgers University and the US Dept of Agriculture made joint study on animals and found that the compound found in blueberries, called pterostilbene, lessened pre-cancerous lesions and inhibited the genes involved in inflammation.
Their study showed that eating blueberries reduced the rate of colon cancer in rats by a staggering 57 percent! Well of course we are not rats - but this study gives us some very interesting information that backs up previous research that tells us eating our berries, particularly blueberries on a daily basis can really help to keep us healthy.

A great start to your day can be some good quality whey protein to assist the action of your insulin and keep obesity at bay - combined with a handful of fresh or frozen blueberries - preferably organic - blended together with milk, soy milk or water.
Yum.

Exposure To Environmental Toxics and the Parkinson Connection

Excess iron early in life and exposure to Paraquat - a very nasty herbicide, have been shown to increase the risk of Parkinson's Disease - certainly this study was done on mice, but it points clearly to the importance of detoxification of environmental chemicals to avoid neurone damage. The article linked above states:
Those mice treated with the antioxidant, which was delivered at the same time as the environmental toxin, had significantly less nerve death in the area of the brain commonly affected by PD.

It was also stated:
“The fact that the antioxidant treatment prevented much of the nerve damage in the mice points to the need for an early diagnostic test for Parkinson’s disease,” said Andersen. “Currently, by the time humans are diagnosed with the disease they have already lost 60% of the neurons implicated in PD; treatment with an antioxidant would likely be maximally effective if taken before symptoms appear in order to halt disease progression.”

Interesting the way the scientific mind works.. I would have said.. perhaps taking antioxidants could be a great preventative for many things - not just early diagnosis and then take them. How about taking them as a matter of course?!

And antioxidants are not just in pill form - green tea, green leafy vegetables as fresh and organic as you can get, juices (for a great juicer see here) and of course all those yummy berries the more red colour the better!

Yet more evidence that says eat your fruits and vegies!!

Aspartame Warnings - How Many do we have to have?

Once again Aspartame is in the news.. this time with the results of an Italian study which demonstrated the incidence of increased cancer in rats fed with Aspartame. We here at Best Health have been telling people for years to get off this nasty substance.

The effects can be insidious and people who finally wake up and stop using it can experience relief from many niggling and not so minor symptoms. Try it and see.. just for even a week, stop your diet drinks, your sugar free chewing gum, or mints .. see what happens.
We suggest that symptoms such as irritability, nervousness, possibly headaches, rashes, digestive disturbance and more can "magically" disappear. For a great site with lots of info on the subject you can go to the Aspartame Toxicity info site.

Big business has a big say in whether our watchdogs sit up and take notice. So if the FDA is ignoring this Italian study you may want to ask yourself why? Is it because the study is flawed, or is it because it is in the interest of those with power to ignore it? We suggest there is a lot of ignoring going on.

Stand Up and Show Your Soul

I fell across an article from Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D Author of the best seller Women Who Run with the Wolves today and it resonated so much with what I would like to say to each and everyone of us in this time that I needed to bring it to the attention of us all.

She says we are made for this time, it is our time, and it is not the time to focus on the heaviness and the wrongs of this chaotic world we are living in. But it is the time to stand up and show our souls. To join our lights to that of others of like minds and hearts, - it is not our job to make a massive change but to add our voice and heart to the surge of the thousands of others who are stretching out to mend the part of the world that is wihin our reach.

Avandia - don't panic say Diabetes Australia

The New England Medical Journal a highly reputable publication, publishes a study which reports that the diabetic drug Avandia increases the risk of heart attack by 45% - excuse me.. I think this is time to stop taking this drug. Despite the fact that our Diabetes experts say its most likely okay.

Avandia maker GlaxoSmithKline says the study is flawed and that better data -- some already submitted to the FDA, some from an ongoing clinical trial -- show Avandia poses no significant risk to patients' heart health. Well I imagine they do say this.. after all it is rather in their interest to make sure they can quickly finance another "better" trial to prove all is well in the pharmaceutical world.

According to the Federal Centre for Disease Control in the USA, poisoning from prescription drugs has risen to become the second-largest cause of unintentional deaths in the United States, for more on this see this link
It seems to me that we need to really take notice when a prestigious journal gives information about the dangers of a commonly used drug.. don't wait for the next paid study to come out disproving it all!

Paracetomol dangers

Paracetamol is one of the world’s most popular painkillers – and it is also far more dangerous than the millions who take it realize. It kills around 450 people in the USA and around 120 in the UK every year.

The American drug regulator, the Food and Drug Administration, is so concerned that it is considering restricting the drug’s availability, an action that has already been taken in Ireland.

There, it is illegal to buy more than 24 tablets, or 500 mg, in a single transaction. Despite this, it was responsible for nearly a third of all the 7,933 drug overdoses recorded in Ireland in 2004.

The drug can become dangerous at even relatively low dosages, and can cause serious – and sometimes fatal – liver damage.

Refugee deal with USA

Of all the crazy schemes that our so-called 'leaders' have dreamt up this is one of the most absurd I have heard in a while. Oh yes lets just swap refugees.. "you send us yours and we will send you ours!"

Well "Hello?" where is the logic in that! and how much good money are we going to throw away on that scheme? Why not just spend that money on settling these people in. On helping these people - so incredibly dislocated from their homes and lands - not sending them off on yet another terrifying journey to dislocate them further.

Let us wake up and start to care for the dislocated peoples of this planet - instead of trying to shuffle them under the carpet, leave them in outposts that are so arid of human kindness and love that they are forever damaged.

The Passion Test

I bought this book about 6 months ago, on a spur of the moment purchase off the net. It sat on my shelf and I didn't look at it further until the New Year when it seemed a good time to review my passions and my intentions for 2007.
And since then, I have been carrying with me on my trips.
Today flying across to Melbourne from Perth, I opened it again. And I would like to share a few words of wisdom that have leapt out at me.

Your life today is the result of the predominant thoughts you have held up till now.
If you want to change your life, change your mind!

Our intention is being broadcast to the Universe minute by minute. If your predominant thoughts are those of fear - thoughts about there not being enough, thoughts reflecting fear of loss, if you focus on a desire for safety, for keeping the status quo, this becomes your intention.

It is so important in these times, to realise that the promotion of fear based realities on the planet is uppermost. This is very infective, so if your predominant thoughts fall into this darkness it is suggested that you become very aware of what you surround yourself with.

Let the newspaper stay in the shop, use the off button on the tv when the bad news floods in, (it is always the same and if there is really something you need to know about - then be sure you will hear it). Tune your radio to the best music you can find, discover the joy of reading uplifting material. If the book you are reading is creating sadness or terror or darkness in your mind, put it down. You do not have to finish a book just because you started it!

Surround yourself with positive people, joyful space, beautiful music and uplifting information - it is out there, just be open and allow it to come into your life. This will most certainly assist you in discovering the true intention that you have - rather than that which is overlaid upon you by the fear mongering that is so prevalent at this time.

It is our responsibility to uplift ourselves so we can create harmony within and therefore around us.

Renewable Resources

This is a timely reminder and absolutely worth checking out.
Climate change is happening. We do not have the luxury of time for any politicians to waste in rhetoric and deceit. We have the choice to elect somone who will protect rather than damage the earth.
All the talk about reducing greenhouse gases and what the plan is for 2020 makes me really wonder - at the rate we are going we won't be around for 2020 let alone have some dream that nuclear power will save us as the power stations will all be up and running by then!

Turn off those unnecessary appliances now - turn off your standby items, walk a little more, do a daily bit to reduce your own power use, and vote for someone in your land who does not have their head in the sand!

Find a Disease You Like

A very humorous look at disease - just open it up and keep on searching till you find a disease you like.. for example..

Pathological Retarded Identity Disorder With Facial Tic

PRIDWFT is primarily characterized by obsessive and harmful thoughts and behaviors exacerbated by a clinically significant mental aptitude impairment surrounding the perception of self, worsened by involuntary facial muscle spasms.
You can keep on generating new disease conditions with just the click of a button.. and the site goes on to tell you nicely tongue in cheek how you can now get filthy rich by creating a drug to treat it!!

For a good laugh and they also have an interesting newsletter which goes out weekly. Mostly USA news, but hey.. that often applies to the rest of us as well.

The Disappearance of the Bees:

The honey bees have been disappearing in the USA - many things are conjectured to be the cause - electromagnetic field radiation disturbing their homing instincts, pesticides, GM crops - and apparently large number of virus and fungi have been found in the bodies of those left in almost abandoned hives - its an alarming sign of the times.

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man." - Albert Einstein

"Outfoxed - Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism".

We would like to introduce those of you who live in Perth to a very interesting person we had the pleasure of meeting last week - Darrell Brown.

His passion is assisting people to wake up to what is really going on around them. Sound familiar?
We think many of you will appreciate his work so would like to suggest you consider coming to the next event - "Outfoxed - Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism". April 11th 2007.

Consider this:
In 1983 most of the world's media was controlled by around 50 corporations. Today in 2007 that has been reduced to just five!

"Outfoxed" examines how media empires, led by Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, have been running a "race to the bottom" in television news. This film provides an in-depth look at Fox News and the dangers of ever-enlarging corporations from taking control.

To book for this event, check Darrell's website.

Toxic Chemicals in the Blood

Yes we are in Australia but this is a chilling reminder of the toxic load we are carrying around - and you can be sure it is not only in Canada that this is happening.
And some reports would have you believe that detoxing is an unnecessary and useless exercise. Why then when I do a detox program does my head feel clear and my body light and energetic?
Canadian Politicians Found to carry toxic chemical soup.

Start by reading labels, we can't eat numbers! Then choose organic whenever possible, juice on a regular basis - the Compact Juicer makes a great addition to your kitchen and will help you to implement a healthy drink on a daily basis which will alkalise and assist your body to detoxify.

How the Cost of the Iraq War COULD have been spent!

Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz puts the total cost at more than $2 trillion — but let's be conservative and say it's only $1 trillion (in today's dollars).

Imagine for a moment what could have been done with that money. How many people could have been fed? How many clean sources of water could have been found for those who have none.
Almost two in three people lacking access to clean water survive on less than $2 a day, with one in three living on less than $1 a day.
Look at some of these statistics and then consider the enormity of the misdirection that is occurring here on planet earth today!
Half the world — nearly three billion people — live on less than two dollars a day.
Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.
Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn't happen.
for more of these facts check out http://www.globalissues.org/TradeRelated/Facts.asp

Take every opportunity you can to show our 'leaders' where we want our money spent.

Vaccinations forced to health workers

There is an urgent appeal going out to all our friends from the Australian Vaccination Network

here is a transcript of an email we received yesterday - it is worth our action!

We have had a flood of medical and allied students who are getting kicked out of their courses (in Australia) because they are not vaccinated. This has been an ongoing situation for the last 12 months and it is getting worse with the requirement now extending to current employees of hospitals as well as students.

AVN (Australian Vaccination Network) have a barrister who is willing to take a case to try and stop this. He is not charging us for time, but needs money for disbursements and expenses - $1,500 to start and up to $5,000 by the time this gets to court. This would normally cost between $10,000 and $15,000 so we are paying less than 10% of the normal costs - a bargain if we had the money!

We have no funds for this - or at all as this is a very hard time of year for us - but not running this case is not an option as far as I'm concerned. This is a test of our will - if we allow this to be done, we and our children will be the next victims of mandatory vaccination and, as an expat American where vaccines have been compulsory since 1978, that is a road I do NOT want to go down. I don't think you do either.

Please if you are in a position to give us a donation to fight against these draconian rules, do it now.

We accept donations by credit card by phone (02 6687 1699), FAX (02 6687 2032) or on our website - www.avn.org.au.

You can also direct deposit funds into our account at the Westpac bank either by internet banking or over the counter.

The bank details are as follows:
Australian Vaccination Network Inc.
Westpac Bank - Ballina Branch
BSB number is 032 591
Account number is 188207

Leave your name as identification so we can send you a receipt!

Cheque or money orders can be posted to:
AVN
PO Box 177
Bangalow NSW 2479
AUSTRALIA

I am leaving it there, but please consider carefully what kind of country you want to live in and bring your children up in and how much you would spend to keep your family safe. A $25 donation from each of you will have a benefit far and away in excess of the actual cost to your pocket.
Kind regards,

Meryl Dorey,
President

Integrative Medicine Growth

Wellspace a leading provider of integrative medicine in the USA reported a growth of the demand for integrative or complementary medicine by 300% in 2006! Well they must be doing something right .. combining Eastern and Western Medicine in a holistic setting.

Complementary medicine demand is growing world wide and they still say we are not proven.. the diehards of the Big Pharma based medical group still deny that we are doing anything of value.

We at Best Health see health changes and improvements daily - just using nutrition, stress release, homeopathics, kinesiology techniques and a calming and gentle healing atmosphere.

Like I said.. we must be doing something right!

A Great Quote found on Comsumercide.com

Fell into this interesting website.. consumercide.. check it out for lots of good info behind the scenes..

"I was at one time a great lover of the medical profession. . . . I no longer hold that opinion. . . . Doctors have almost unhinged us. . . . I regard the present system as black magic. . . . Hospitals are institutions for propagating sin. Men take less care of their bodies and immorality increases. . . . ignoring the soul, the profession puts men at its mercy and contributes to the diminution of human dignity and self control.. . . I have endeavoured to show that there is no real service of humanity in the profession, and that it is injurious to mankind. . . . I believe that a multiplicity of hospitals is not test of civilization. It is rather a symptom of decay."

Trust

There has been a lot of stuff going on in my head in the past days about trust .. we are being bombarded left right and centre with those that would incite us not to trust anyone - but it seems to me that if we do not trust we are lost.

If we trust and we are betrayed - who is really hurt? Has our trust been destroyed, or just our connection with that person. Is it not the betrayer who is actually hurt in this scenario?

Trust creates a situation in every case where all business dealings can be smoothly transacted, where things can go quickly, where things can be built on a solid foundation of friendship and connection. In business if you do not trust .. then any agreements which you make are destined to fall apart - because they are built on quicksand.

In a relationship if you do not trust, you are projecting out images of the other betraying you.. and what else can happen but that betrayal?
In fact if you do not trust you are responsible for creating a situation where your lack of trust is demonstrated to be true.

So what's the lesson in all of this.. I say keep a basic trust in your heart for in this way, you will attract to yourself that which is open and heartful.

You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment if you do not trust enough

David Icke - an interesting viewpoint

Here is the UK Channel Five documentary about
David Icke which was broadcast on Boxing Day.

This is a new version with sound-sync throughout.

We recommend that you let the download run for a while before you watch it to make for smooth watching.. unless of course you have super fast broadband.

You may not agree with all he says - but it is certainly worth considering in these Orwellian times - which pill will you take? The red one or the blue one?
